Peterborough is a Cambridgeshire based cathedral city just under an hour from Cambridge. The city sits on the River Nene and holds importance in it’s ancient history background dating as far back as the Bronze Age. As well as such a strong heritage to live by, the city named after St Peter also offers residents various shopping centres, markets and fairs, and is an important stop on the East Coast train line between Edinburgh and London.
Historically, this enabled the area to be the UK’s leading producer of brick distribution which played a large part in the development in and around the city. Having put in place a regeneration scheme for Peterborough in 2012, the area has experienced an economic boom with various parts of the city being upgraded to reflect it’s modern goods and services sector. As of 2014, the city boasts a population of over 190,000 and is a testament to the large offering of schools, amenities and growing housing developments in and around the area.
